Arriving to Kilkenny by Bus or Train
Arriving by bus get off at Ormonde road (rather than the train station or the Newpark stop) then walk down and turn left into Patrick street and then left again into High street. Continue on for 5 mins and it becomes Parliament street. We are down there on the right hand side at number 35 Parliament street, opposite The Pumphouse pub.
Two bus companies go from Dublin to Kilkenny, JJ Kavanaghs Bus (from Dublin airport or city centre) and Dublin coach
The best bus to Kilkenny from Waterford or Cork is Dublin Coach.
If you get the train come out of the station, cross over the road and turn left into John street. Walk down John street go over the bridge and take the 2nd right turn into Kieran street. Continue on Kieran street and keep walking straight and you will arrive in Parliament st and we are at number 35.

Driving to Kilkenny
Driving in from the Dublin direction, come into Kilkenny via the M9 motorway, turn left at the first roundabout and follow the signs to the city centre. At the next roundabout turn right, then drive straight until you come to traffic lights where the train station and McDonagh shopping centre are on your right and JBs bar is on your left.
Here you can turn left into John street, drive down and take the first right turn after you go over John's bridge and this will bring you around by the river. At the next traffic lights where the bank of Ireland is on your left take a right turn. You are now on Parliament street. Drive down and you will see us on the right side at number 35. For cheap parking continue to the end of Parliament street to the next traffic lights and turn left, drive straight and halfway up on the right side and at the end of Dean street on the right there are two carparks off the road that cost 2 Euro per day.
Cheap parking in Kilkenny near the Hostel
The cheapest place to park is Dean street car park or St Canices car park which are both off the road on Dean street. This is just around the corner from us in Parliament street.
These carparks are pay and display at a rate of 2 Euro per day and are payable from 8am to 7pm ( with one hour free) Monday to Saturday via cash or card at the machine.
That means they're free overnight and all day on Sundays (and bank holiday Mondays).
If you want to prepay for the following day then do this after 7pm each night and the machine will then print the ticket for the following day.
Please note these carparks are increasing from July 1st 2023 to €3 and €5 per day.
