DIRECTIONS
BUS
Get off at Ormonde Road (rather than the train station) then just walk straight down the High st and continue on for 5 mins and it becomes Parliament st. We are down there on the right hand side opposite The Pump House pub and next door to the Watergate theatre.
TRAIN
Come out of the station and turn left into John street. Go over the bridge and take the 2nd right turn into Kieran st. past Dunnes supermarket and the Bank of Ireland. You are now in Parliament st. We are down on the right hand side with a big red door.
DRIVING
From the Dublin/Carlow direction, You will come into Kilkenny off the motorway.
Turn left at the first big roundabout and follow signs to the city centre, then turn right at next roundabout. Now follow this road all the way down until you come to the traffic lights where the railway station and McDonagh shopping centre is on your right. Turn left here into John street.
Follow along, go over the bridge and take the immediate right turn after the bridge.
Follow this road around the back of the supermarket car park and at the traffic lights turn right.
You are now on Parliament st and we are down on the right hand side number 35 with a big red door.
For parking continue down to the end of Parliament st through Irishtown and the at the lights turn left into Dean st. You will see a car park on the righthand side of the road indicated by a large P sign.
There is also another cheap carpark at the end of this street on the right near the church.
Driving in from the Cork/Clonmel direction Continue straight over the first roundabout you meet coming into Kilkenny and continue straight over the next small roundabout where Hotel Kilkenny is on your right.At the next roundabout turn left. Continue along this road all the way down until you come to another roundabout and turn right here into Dean street.
There is a carpark here on the left side near the Church indicated by a large P sign and another one a bit further down the street also on the left. From this street it is a few mins walk to the Hostel. Just go down to the traffic lights, turn right, walk through Irishtown past the small shops and continue up past the Watergate theatre and we are on the left side of the road.
CAR PARKING
Whilst we dont have our own carpark we suggest that you Park in one of the car parks on Dean street which is just around the corner from the Hostel. These carparks are 2 Euro per day and you can buy a ticket from the ticket machine in the car park. Parking at these car parks is 2 Euro for the day from 8am til 7pm Monday to Saturday with the first hour being free. Parking after 7pm and all day Sunday is free.
